How are the bills paid?

The first time you schedule a payment for a payee the bill is paid by check.  If the payee has the ability to receive electronic transfers, the payment method may change to electronic.

To see how your payees are setup, look at the Payment Type column on the Payee List.

What's the difference between Processed and Cleared status?

When the payment is made by ACH, the Processed status means the payment has been sent.  ACH payments do not involve the printing of checks, therefore there is not check to "clear" so this status will never change.

When the payment is made by check, the Processed status means the check has been printed and sent.  Once that check has cleared, then the status will read Cleared.

When does the money come out of your account?

The money comes out of your account after 6:30 pm for any scheduled payments.

For payments entered the same day as the payment date, the money comes out after 6:30 pm on the date entered.  If the payment was entered after 6:30 pm, it comes out of your account on the next day.

How long does it take for the bill to be paid?

It takes five business days for bills to be paid by check and three business days by electronic transfer.

To see how your payees are setup, look at the Payment Type column on the Payee List.
